The Traffic Policy of 2013 By: Aiden Paul
This Photo explains the process in which Aiden took to create the policy.
In Westfield New Jersey there is a copious amount of traffic in our down town area. Our policy will abolish the traffic in our town. Our policy will make the following changes to our town, a larger parking lot, better roadways and more stop signs and less lights
To start off a large parking lot of to the side of our town will make parking easier and eliminate people driving around for spots causing traffic. Our extra parking would be placed around the outside of the town near the train station. Having more parking is good for this town because we have a very popular town on Fridays 50 percent of the kids in middle school and high school come into town causing a gigantic amount of traffic from kids crossing streets or high school students looking for spots for their cars. Parking spots will make picking up someone or parking a breeze.
Secondly our policy will create smarter roadways making traffic less of a problem. We will create a road that circles the town making entries and exits easy. Having an easy exit will benefit people leaving work in town or just passing through making traffic less of a horrific incident in our town. More roads will make cars take other options making traffic in one street much better.
Lastly putting more stop sign up in the center most part of town will keep our community safe, while refraining from putting a mirage of stop signs on the out side of town. I would also like to talk about stoplights; stoplights are making traffic worse. 60 percent of the time no one is crossing the street slowing everyone down. I have seen 10 some times 15 cars waiting for a light when no one is even crossing.
Overall traffic in Westfield is at an all time high and it needs to be corrected with effective and intelligent ideas.
The Westfield police department will be responsible for carrying out the policy because, the police department will be needed to block of roadways for construction and making sure everything is the correct standards.
