Traffic Solutions
This picture resembles how our solution is.
I believe that there are two simple solutions to the traffic problems down town. One of these solutions would be to put a parking garage town with around 3 floors. The advantages to these solutions are that it could help resolve the traffic problem in Westfield, and we can build it on the soccer field on Elm Street. The reason we think this location is good it because the field is garbage and none uses it. The disadvantages to this solution is that it would cost allot of money so we would have to raise all the money, also it would take a really long time to make and while they were making it, it would make the traffic down town even worse. The second solution we have to this traffic issue is to make a private lane for public transportation, and large trucks because they seem to cause most of the traffic. The advantages to this solution is that it would help to make less traffic in Westfield, but the downside to this solution is that it might not work for such a long time.
Conflicts
This shows how the conflicts must be resolved or it could lead to worse problems.
A few conflicts we might have while trying to make the two solutions a reality is that they would both cost allot of money. Second, a parking garage was already proposed in Westfield and it was turned down so even if we had the money it might not be able to work if the people don’t want it there. But I think the major conflict is money there are not many ways to raise that much money in a fast amount of time so money is a main issue we have. The final conflict we think will occur is that while building the parking garage or making a new lane for public transport it will make the traffic in Westfield much worse which is something we are trying desperately to avoid.
Roles of Citizens
This picture is a symbol for citizens.
The citizens of Westfield NJ will have a major effect of this traffic. They could help us by paying higher taxes for 3 to 4 months or they could do nothing and wait until the traffic gets so bad they are trying to avoid driving through town when they are going some were because it will take them 100 times longer to go a different way, even though going to down town is the direct route. Overall I believe that citizens have the biggest role of all to putting a stop to the traffic problem, and they do need to act now before it is too late to do anything.
